1. High Notes

  • Jan 22: Good rehearsal! The "risers" were fuller than they've been in a long time, for both the Mixed Chorus and the Men's.
    • The following people from the Holiday Chorus were in attendance of the inaugural Mixed Chorus practice: Eva Snapp, Shirley Colson, Liz Kasberg, Andy Fuson, and Sharon Muha.
    • In addition to the new members for the mixed chorus (Welcome Back!), we enjoyed the first visit from Eric Harper, who heard about OCS on Meetup.com.
    • Great afterglow at Parkway Tavern, including new singers Eric Parker and Andy Fuson. A good time was had by all.
  • Jan 29: Our last rehearsal at dear ole Searstone.
    • 6:30: Mixed Chorus. Please prep on:
      • "I've Got the World on a String". Tracks and score were already available on the web site.
      • New song "I Didnt Want to Fall". Tracks and score are now available on the web site. There are a few small differences between this arrangement and the one we used in Brigade in 1998.
    • 7:45 Men's chorus rehearsal. Please prep on the following songs:
      • Desperado
      • Over the Rainbow
      • Two Less Lonely People
      • Where Everybody Knows Your Name - try it without paper this week
      • Lazy Day - also without paper this week
      • Heart of My Heart
      • Let Me Call You Sweetheart
  • Feb 5 (Monday): First meeting in our new location: Glenaire Retirement Village off Kildaire Farm Rd: 6000 Glenview Garden Place, Cary NC 27511, at our NEW usual times. Note that some Navigation systems don't map this spot correctly. If that's the case, our rehearsal location is in a 5-story building on the south side of Cornwall Rd, near its intersection with Kildaire Farm Rd,
  • Valentine's Day is coming up! February 13 and 14 (Tuesday AND Wednesday.) Direct people to our web site (OakCitySound.org) to order a Singing Valentine.

2. Carol's Korner

Keep singing with meaning and confidence, but always listen louder than you sing!
