1. High Notes

• Dec 18: Our fifth and final Holiday Concert was held at Searstone. 
• Thank you to our Holiday Singers who helped us out at our various concerts. We really enjoyed singing with you and are forever grateful for your contributions to Oak City Sound.
• There is a new mobile app that can be used to access sheet music and learning tracks (and documents and attendance), with instructions for getting it and setting it up at: https://www.oakcitysound.org/dbpage.php?pg=app, which you can get to once you login. This is currently being evaluated, but the chorus will probably pay the required $40 each year to keep it. 
• Dec 18: BOD meeting at 5:30. Some noteworthy news:
  • Searstone is starting renovation work on our rehearsal room, and it will not be available after Jan 31. Thanks to Gary Thorn for his heads up action, we are returning to Glenaire Retirement Community, starting Feb 5! Hooray! They are glad to have us back (we had to leave there in 2019 because of renovation work there!) and we are glad to be back as well.
• Dec 25 (Monday):  Christmas! No meeting!
• Jan 1 (Monday): New Year's Day! No meeting!
• Jan 5 (Friday): 7pm Annual OCS Banquet.
  • To be held at same place as last year, Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church, 100 S. Judd Parkway SE, Fuquay-Varina NC
  • Park in the lot off of Academy Street and enter the side door. Dinner will be catered by Texas Roadhouse and our installing officer will be Nick DiLorenzo. Spouses/significant others are encouraged to attend.
• Jan 8: First Oak City Sound Meeting of 2024! At Searstone, the usual meeting place and time.

2. Carol's Korner

• Start working on our two new songs Scores and trax are available in the Song Library.

3. Future Notes

• Feb 5 (Monday): First meeting in our new location: Glenaire Retirement Village off Kildaire Farm Rd. Note that we will be in a different building from our earlier years there in the Auditorium.. Details on location and parking will be given out in January. Usual time.
• February 14 Wednesday: Singing Valentines!!

4. Long Range

• April 19 to 21: Carolinas District Convention in Pinehurst NC

5. Champagne Room

• We want to thank all the Holiday Singers that joined us this season. We made a great sound with you all.
• It was great to see Sean Li back on the risers with us for our final Christmas concert.
