1. High Notes

  • Dec 4: Our SECOND Holiday Concert was held at Springmoor. 
  • Dec 5: Oak City Sound's THIRD Holiday Concert (the "BIG ONE") at Cary Arts Center. A great success. Here are the names of those who helped out. (Please forgive me if I missed a name!)
    • Thank you to our Holiday Singers, we created a great sound with you all: Susan Anderson, Shirley Colson, Liz Kasberg, Eileen Mayhew, Cheryl McQueen, Pat Scibienski, Jin Hee Shin, Eva Snapp, and Sue Twyman. 
    • Thanks to so many for your work in support of the show: (Please forgive me if I have omitted your name!)
      • Setting the stage: John Zwieghaft, Tim Kinsey, Larry Hill, Mike Muha, and John Quick, plus Shirley Colson (one of our Holiday Singers).
      • Riser Transport: John Zweighaft.
      • Lobby and ushering: David and Donna Kraay, Barb Lesperance, and Lenora Harris-Field.   Andy Fuson and Sandy Cols had volunteered but were unable to come.
      • Tix sales: Larry Hill.
      • Staging and Crew Direction: Mike Muha.
    • Total ticket sales: 151.
  • Dec 11 (Monday): 4th Holiday Concert at Whispering Pines (7501 Lead Mine Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615). Call time is 6:15
    • If you can't find a parking spot, go to the church next door where we are allowed to park.
  • Dec 18 (Monday):  5th Holiday Concert at Searstone. Call time is 6:15.
  • Dec 25 (Monday):  Christmas! No meeting
  • Jan 1 (Monday): New Year's Day! No meeting!

  • Please don't catch a cold! And don't share one, either!

3. Future Notes

  • Jan 8: First Oak City Sound Meeting of 2024! At Searstone, the usual meeting place and time.
  • January TBD: Chorus Annual Banquet

4. Long Range

  • February 14 Wednesday: Singing Valentines!!
  • April 19 to 21: Carolinas District Convention in Pinehurst NC
