2. Carol's Korner

Yes, the following is in iambic pentameter, as close as I could get it, from Carol's original words.
  • Christmas is coming, the music folder's getting fat!
  • We've got a lot of work for Cary Lazy Daze at that.
  • Remember to work on sharping just like that
  • The new and resurrected Christmas music we like, Yap!
  • We' ll keep adding to our practice schedule as we need,
  • The coming weeks will def show who has prepared indeed.
  • As we are finishing up preparations for our new songs that will be sung for our August 26 Lazy Daze performance., keep working on flow, connection, lift, approaching each pitch from the top, and all of the other things I nag you about! It's paying off!!

3. Future Notes

  • Tuesday evenings at 7pm, starting Tuesday July 11, running for several weeks. Greg Santa Croce, who is the choir director at  St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex, where John Zweighaft attends, will lead a sight-singing lab this summer.  He has opened it to members of our chorus. It’s free. It will include some basics of reading music with singing to train singing music intervals.  I recommend this for both new and experienced singers. The lab will be held at the church at 7:00pm on Tuesday nights beginning on July 11.  Contact John Zweighaft for more information.
  • July 19 (Wednesday): Concession stand in Chapel Hill. Check with Tim Kinsey for details.

4. Long Range

  • Aug 26, Cary Lazy Daze Town Festival. Oak City Sound will be performing on the main stage, as we've done for a few years running. Please mark it on your calendar ... we don't have the detailed performance time or location yet.
  • Oct 22, a Sunday afternoon. Oak City Sound in concert at Preston Pointe in Morrisville.
5. Champagne Room
  • Congratulations to Michael McQueen and David Kraay for passing their entry auditions into Oak City Sound!
