1. High Notes

  • June 12: Great rehearsal. 17 members singing. Great Afterglow at The Corner Taven with 7 in attendance.
  • June 19 (Monday): Regular meeting at our regular time at our regular location: Searstone Retirement Community at 7pm. We will rehearse the following:
    • Prayer of the Children
    • Two Less Lonely People
    • Desperado
    • Honesty
    • Do You Hear What I Hear?
    • We Need a Little Christmas

2. Carol's Korner

  • You all did some great work in your sectional rehearsals on Monday. We will do that more often to help you hear how your parts work together better..
  • Our added focus this week was on singing down to the high notes and up to the low notes. As you work to apply that idea to all of your singing, you will find that your vocal quality is more consistent throughout your range and you will be more flexible and agile.
  • Mike is working on a memorization schedule, but why not get ahead of it? We WILL be adding our 3 newest songs to our Lazy Daze performance in August, so get off paper now to allow us to work more on accuracy and presentation.

3. Future Notes

  • July 3: No meeting.
  • July 19 (Wednesday): Concession stand in Chapel Hill

4. Long Range

  • Aug 26, Cary Lazy Daze Town Festival. Oak City Sound will be performing on the main stage, as we've done for a few years running. Please mark it on your calendar ... we don't have the details yet.
  • Oct 22, a Sunday afternoon. Oak City Sound in concert at Preston Pointe in Morrisville.
5. Champagne Room
