1. High Notes

  • May 22: Good chapter meeting and chorus rehearsal at our usual location. Good afterglow back at The Corner Tavern. Many thanks to Mike Muha for leading the chorus rehearsal in Carol's absence!
    • Welcome to Speight Bird, a first time visitor! He did a great job in the Bass section. Speight is Vern PIke's friend and fellow inmate at The Templeton.
  • May 29: Great OCS Cookout at the Fuson's house! Many thanks to Warren and Andy for putting on a great shindig. Lots of good fellowship, eating, drinking, and singing!
  • June 5 (Monday): Oak City Sound in concert at Searstone! All our new guests are invited to come and listen, even if you're not singing this time.  
    • Riser Set up time is 6:15 in our usual meeting room. Please come early and help out!
    • Call time is 6:30pm. Concert is at 7:15pm.
    • Uniform: Blue check chorus shirt, black chorus jacket, chorus jeans, etc.
    • Abbreviated rehearsal will follow the concert.
    • Song order will be the same as what we sang at the Templeton:

  • June 12 (Monday): Regular meeting at our regular time at our regular location: Searstone Retirement Community at 7pm. We will rehearse all the songs for the Searstone Concert on June 5, and the following:

    • Desperado
    • Honesty
    • Two Less Lonely
  • The Acorn is back after a one-week vacation! [Ed.]

2. Carol's Korner

  • It was great listening to you all sing with and for each other at the Memorial Day gathering! I really enjoyed hearing you lead yourselves and guide the direction of the songs. I would love to hear you sing with that conviction and attention to each other when I'm waving my arms around in front of you! Let's do that on Monday night for the folks at Searstone.
  • Mike has moved some of our archived Christmas songs to the show list for this fall, so you can start listening to and working on:
    • Light the Legend
    • Christmas Through Your Eyes
    • March of the Wooden Soldiers
    • Do You Hear What I Hear?
  • Start listening to and working on them!! We'll start working on those in June. We will also add a few more new holiday titles later in the summer.

  •  July 3: No meeting.

4. Long Range

  • Oct 22, a Sunday afternoon. Oak City Sound in concert at Preston Pointe in Morrisville.
