1. High Notes

• May 15: Good chapter meeting and chorus rehearsal at our usual location. Good afterglow at Parkway Tavern.
• May 22 (Monday): Regular meeting at our regular time at our regular location: Searstone Retirement Community at 7pm. We will rehearse all the songs for the Searstone Concert on June 5, and the following:
  • Prayer for the Children
  • Desperado
  • Honesty
  • Two Less Lonely
• May 29: Is Memorial Day. Chapter Cookout at Warren Fuson's house! 8801 Lakewood Dr, Raleigh NC, 27613. Spouses are certainly invited. This is a Pot Luck style event. • June 5 (Monday): 7:15pm: Concert at Searstone! Please show up at 6:30.

2. Carol's Korner

• Mike will be shifting some of our archived Christmas songs to the show list for this fall, so people can start listening to and working on:
  • Light the Legend
  • Christmas Through Your Eyes
  • March of the Wooden Soldiers
  • Do You Hear What I Hear?
• Start listening to and working on them!! We'll start working on those in June, and will also add in a few more new holiday titles later in the summer.
• We made some great progress on the tricky rhythms of our newest songs. Please keep steadily listening to the tracks, especially for Honesty and Two Less Lonely People in the World.
• Please keep playing with the idea we worked with at the end of the rehearsal when we sang as if we were hearing impaired. That made a big difference in how well we rounded the sound, kept the tone flowing, and brought the minimized consonant sounds forward to the line of vowels. As this becomes your default placement for all of your singing sounds, this will make a big difference in how well we can ring chords and sing whole phrases and songs.
