1. High Notes

• Apparently, I forgot to hit the Send button last week, so last week's Acorn did not go out! Sorry. You get two weeks worth of OCS news in this week's issue!
• Dec 4: Our SECOND Holiday Concert was held at Springmoor. 
• Dec 5: Oak City Sound's THIRD Holiday Concert (the "BIG ONE") at Cary Arts Center. A great success. Here are the names of those who helped out. (Please forgive me if I missed a name!)
  • Thank you to our Holiday Singers, we created a great sound with you all: Susan Anderson, Shirley Colson, Liz Kasberg, Eileen Mayhew, Cheryl McQueen, Pat Scibienski, Jin Hee Shin, Eva Snapp, and Sue Twyman. 
  • Thanks to so many for your work in support of the show: (Please forgive me if I have omitted your name!)
    • Setting the stage: John Zwieghaft, Tim Kinsey, Larry Hill, Mike Muha, and John Quick, plus Shirley Colson (one of our Holiday Singers).
    • Riser Transport: John Zweighaft.
    • Lobby and ushering: David and Donna Kraay, Barb Lesperance, and Lenora Harris-Field.   Andy Fuson and Sandy Cols had volunteered but were unable to come.
    • Tix sales: Larry Hill.
    • Staging and Crew Direction: Mike Muha.
  • Total ticket sales: 151.
• Dec 11: Our FOURTH  Holiday Concert at Whispering Pines. Another success!
• Dec 15 (Friday) - Heart of Carolina Christmas concert at 7pm. at the Durham Arts Council PSI Theater. 
  • Show will again be presented Dec 16 at 3pm, at the same location.

• Dec 18 (Monday):  5th and final Holiday Concert at Searstone. Call time is 6:15.

3. Future Notes

• Jan 5 (Friday): Annual OCS Banquet. To be held at same place as last year, Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church.
• Jan 8: First Oak City Sound Meeting of 2024! At Searstone, the usual meeting place and time.

4. Long Range

• February 14 Wednesday: Singing Valentines!!
• April 19 to 21: Carolinas District Convention in Pinehurst NC

5. Champagne Room

• Jack Moody is recovering from foot surgery, but is not ready yet for standing a long time in one place. 4 more weeks of foot rest to go!
• Warren Fuson has been down with back problems, but is on the mend and hopes to rejoin us for our final Christmas concert.
