1. High Notes
  • ALL SINGERS: Please complete this short Google form on Holiday Chorus Singing Parts to help us plan a standing order for our shows.

    • Please submit this information by this Friday, November 14, so that there is time to create the standing order before Monday's rehearsal.
  • Concert Tickets are now available for our December 16 show at Halle Cultural Center. They are likely to sell out quickly, so don't wait too long to get tickets for friends and family!
    • To buy: go to oakcitysound.org and click the button on the main image. When the page opens, click the “buy tickets” picture of tickets!
  • Remember: EARLY START TIME THIS WEEK! Please arrive at 6:30p for Mixed Chorus if you are able.

2. Rehearsal Notes
  • Nov. 10 (Mon) – Wow – 17 guests this week! Thanks to everyone for coming out – and telling your friends!  
  • Nov. 17 (Mon) – Rehearsal at SEARSTONE. (19001 Searstone Circle, Cary)
    • NEW START TIME:   6:30p – 7:30p – Mixed Chorus
    • 7:30p – 8:15p – Holiday Chorus
    • 8:15p – short business meeting
    • 8:30p – 9:30p – Men’s Chorus
  • Nov. 24 (Mon) – Our first HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE @ The Templeton!
  • HOLIDAY OUTFITS:  Reminder! Look through your closet to be sure you have black bottoms and a solid colored business casual tops (or dressier – sweaters are okay – NO T-shirts) to wear for our holiday performances.

3. Overtures
  • Meetup Group – Remember to RSVP for each rehearsal and afterward, RATE us on Meetup. We are listed under Oak City Sound or “Raleigh Area A Cappella Singing Meetup Group.”

    • Call time is 5:30p for Nov. 21 (Friday) game. The final game is Nov. 29.
  • New name badges are here! How do you get one?
    • Work a shift at NCSU home game concessions – no cost.
    • Join as a NEW OCS member – no cost.

  • Fundraiser or Concert Suggestions? – Contact a member of the board and let us know.

  • You were all sounding fantastic at rehearsal on Monday night! I can't wait to share this great music with our audiences this holiday season!
  • All regular (Mixed & Men’s) chorus songs need to be completely off paper this Monday 11/17…
    • … with the exception of Silent Night and God Rest Ye because they are not likely to be on the first few shows.
  • Show order is still in process, but will be shared soon.
  • For Rehearsal on Nov. 17 – note Women will stay after business meeting to sing Silent Night !

HOLIDAY PERFORMANCES – where Holiday Chorus members are invited to perform!:

  • December 8 (Mon): The Cardinal  (Performance)
  • December 15 (Mon), 7pm: Springmoor  (Performance)
  • December 16 (Tuesday): Holiday Show (public concert) – Halle Cultural Arts Center (downtown Apex)
  • December 22 (Mon), 7pm: Waltonwood (Lake Boone Trail)  (Performance)

6. Festivo (Holiday)
  • NOTICE TO QUARTETS / VLQ’s:  
  • Please contact Carol or Mike with any missing information (list below) and be ready to sing for us on Monday night if you would like to be included in the program on November 24
  • We will include 2-3 quartet songs per performance due to time constraints. All prepared groups will be included in the program on December 16 (except Never Home 4)
  • Here are the quartets and VLQs we anticipate singing for the holiday shows:

  • Holiday Chorus reminders:
    • Practice the HC songs (below) – no need to memorize.
    • No fee, no special costume – we will again do a holiday top/sweater and black bottoms.
    • HC singers are invited to sing at our holiday concert (Dec. 16, Tuesday) and/or at any of our holiday shows at various locations (Nov. 24 & Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22)
