  • Oct. 13 (Mon) – Welcome Holiday Chorus singers! And thanks to everyone for going through the songs – great job!
    • Congrats to Annette for passing her audition and becoming an official member of OCS!
  • **THIS FRIDAY - ANNIVERSARY PARTY**  -- Oct 17 (Fri)
    • 50th Anniversary Party! 2p – 6:30p at Lake Crabtree County Park, 1400 Aviation Pkwy, Morrisville, NC 27560.
    • Beech Shelter, first one on the right, across from the bathrooms. Follow the signs!
    • Wear your NAMETAG. Bring pitchpipes!

    • Main food and an anniversary cake will be provided. Feel free to bring other sides!

  • Oct. 20 (Mon) – Rehearsal will be back at our usual SEARSTONE location: 19001 Searstone Dr.
    • It’s at the end of the circle, and there is parking in either deck (left and right) as you come down Searstone Dr.
    • Walk into building 19001, and go left to the Auditorium/Stage.
  • Holiday Quartets If you’re singing in a quartet for the holidays, please email Gary:

3. Carol's Cadence
  • It was exciting to have several new and returning voices with us on Monday. It's going to be a great holiday season of singing!
  • Women, please listen to the tracks for Ashley's arrangement of Silent Night and consider which parts you might want to sing. We will work that into the rehearsal on October 27.
  • Veteran singers, please look through the songs you have sung in years past and make sure you haven't rewritten anything since last Christmas!

  • Oct. 17 (Friday) – Oak City Sound’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, 2p – 6:30p: Lake Crabtree County Park, Beech Shelter
  • LOCATION CHANGE Oct. 27 (Mon) – this rehearasal only, we’ll be at GLENAIRE.
  • PERFORMANCES:
  • Nov. 10 (Mon): The Forest at Duke (Performance) – Veterans’ Day theme, so this will include some patriotic music – and costume.
  • Nov 24 (Mon): The Templeton (Performance)
  • December 1 (Mon): Whispering Pines  (Performance)
  • December 8 (Mon): The Cardinal  (Performance)
  • December 15 (Mon), 7pm: Springmoor  (Performance)
  • December 16 (Tuesday): Holiday Show (public concert) – Halle Cultural Arts Center (downtown Apex)
  • December 22 (Mon), 7pm: Waltonwood (Lake Boone Trail)  (Performance)

5. Festivo (Holiday)
  • HOLIDAY CHORUS Please invite people to this FREE experience!
    • It’s not too late to invite more people!
  • The HC:
    • Offers guests a chance to try barbershop (for free!) for a few weeks – then sing with us in a concert(s).
    • Guests attend 3 to 6 rehearsals (starting Oct. 13, 7:30 – 8:15p)
    • Practice the HC songs (below) – no need to memorize.
    • No fee, no special costume – we will again do a holiday top/sweater and black bottoms.
    • HC singers are invited to sing at our holiday concert (Dec. 16, Tuesday) and/or at any of our holiday shows at retiree centers (Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22 – possibly Nov date?)

6. In Harmony  (Around the BHS World)

  • June 28 – July 5, 2026: BHS International (2026) – St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Future International locations: 2027 – Minneapolis, MN; 2028 – Chicago, Ill.; 2029 – San Antonio, Texas
