1. High Notes
- April 14 (Monday):
- More new folks at practice this week! Stephanie Portell and Helen Tart came to visit us. We hope to see them again at our forthcoming sing-out performances.
- Good job rehearsing our various songs as we prepare for TWO upcoming concerts (Apr 21 and 28). Keep working on Battle Hymn for our Memorial Day concerts.
- April 21 (Monday): Performance at Woodland Terrace, 300 Kildaire Woods Dr., Cary.
- 6:15p: Call time – outfits: black bottoms, teal OCS shirt (no jackets)
- Reminder to join our Meetup Group (listed under Oak City Sound or “Raleigh Area A Cappella Singing Meetup Group.” Respond that you are coming to each meeting!
- Reminder: Watch the other choruses – and see what you take away!
- May 26 (Monday – Memorial Day) – NO REHEARSAL.
- June – August: We will not be able to practice in our usual room at Glenaire. Stay tuned as we work on locking down a temporary practice area.
- Dec 16 (Tuesday) is LOCKED for our Holiday Concert! Save the date!
- Any Concert Suggestions? – The more organizational funding we get from group concerts, the less formal fundraising we have to do. Contact our Marketing VP Bob Inskeep with any ideas.

- Breath for the pitch and vowel you about to sing.
- Keep working on tall, narrow vowels (think Wallace & Gromit!)
- Move toward the next phrase when you draw in air. Forward momentum.
- Always keep your body free, and sing from your heart!
